Role overview:
- We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Data Engineer with deep expertise in Informatica tools (Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services – IICS and/or Informatica PowerCenter) to lead data pipeline development.
- In this role, you will design, build, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform, and load enterprise data into our cloud data warehouse. The ideal candidate blends deep Informatica data integration knowledge with strong cloud database experience (Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse) and complex SQL performance tuning skills.
- The ideal candidate combines strong technical mastery of Tosca with proven test management and delivery capabilities in fast-paced retail or digital commerce environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Informatica Cloud (IICS Data Integration) and/or PowerCenter to extract data from disparate source systems (relational databases, REST APIs, flat files, and cloud stores).
- Transform raw data into structured, clean data assets using dimensional data modeling techniques (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) optimized for downstream analytics and business intelligence reporting.
- Write, debug, and fine-tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and Informatica mappings/maplets to ensure fast execution and efficient compute usage.
- Implement automated data quality checks, validation rules, and error-handling routines using Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) or custom SQL scripts to guarantee data integrity across all data flows.
- Configure and maintain automated job schedules, task flows, and monitoring alerts using Informatica Taskflows or enterprise orchestration tools.
- Partner closely with data analysts, BI developers, and product teams to translate reporting and analytical requirements into clean, production-grade technical designs.
Required skills:
- 10+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience with a strong focus on enterprise backend ETL/ELT architecture.
- Proven track record with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) (Data Integration, Application Integration) or Informatica PowerCenter (Designer, Workflow Manager, Repository Manager).
- Expert-level SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, query plan analysis, indexing strategies, and database optimization.
- Practical experience loading and transforming data inside modern cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery).
- Direct experience connecting and ingesting data from RDBMS platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and SaaS APIs/flat files.
Preferred skills:
- Hands-on scripting capability in Python or Unix Shell for process automation and API connectivity.
- Experience with Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) or Data Governance modules.
- Exposure to version control workflows (Git) and Agile/Scrum delivery processes.
